FAQs
No. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure how to name what they are experiencing. You do not need a clear diagnosis, a specific goal, or the "right words" to start.
Therapy can be a space to slow down, explore what feels off, and gain clarity together.
The first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what led you to reach out. We’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you’re hoping therapy might help with, and any questions you have.
This session is also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work and whether therapy with me feels like a good fit. There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with.
There is no one right answer. The length of therapy depends on your goals, needs, and circumstances.
Some people find short-term, focused therapy helpful, while others choose longer-term work for ongoing support. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with what you want.
Most therapy sessions last 45–53 minutes, which is considered a standard therapy hour. This allows enough time for meaningful work while also supporting consistency and structure from session to session.
Yes. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach often used in trauma treatment.
EMDR may be incorporated into therapy when appropriate and when it aligns with your goals, readiness, and comfort level. It is always introduced collaboratively and thoughtfully, and never rushed.
No. While EMDR is commonly associated with trauma treatment, it can also be helpful for anxiety, distressing memories, and negative beliefs that continue to show up in daily life.
Whether EMDR is a good fit for you is something we would talk through together.
I offer services on a private-pay basis and am in-network with select insurance plans. The private pay rate for individual therapy is $150 per session.
Insurance coverage and benefits vary by plan, so I encourage clients to verify details directly with their insurance provider. If you have questions about fees or insurance, I’m happy to talk through options with you.
Fit matters. If at any point therapy does not feel supportive or aligned, we can talk openly about it.
My priority is your well-being. I welcome feedback and am always open to helping you explore other options if that feels more supportive.
